Your comment is a perfect demonstration of the problem with this case -- the only evidence you present is circumstantial. Where is there a shred of direct evidence, let alone enough to push your conclusion beyond the threshold of reasonable doubt? I think you need to look up the definition of reasonable doubt. I can only assume that you must be a family member to defend this piece of scum so strongly. I would hate to believe that if you actually read any of the medical, trial of police documents that you would still belive they are innocent. I also cannot believe that your argument is soley based on a biased, one sided independent film with an agenda and yet you dismiss his disturbing medical evaluations as a "normal depressed kid" or "trying to get attention" What kind of F*%&ed up teenagers have you been around. This is not normal!!!!. He is psychotic. And what you fail to see is that: when Damien was displaying these disturbing behaviours, (or what you consider the normal antics of and attention seeking teenager), he was between 17 and 18 years of age....thats funny. It was just before he committed these murders. Coincidence? Only to those who would like to dismiss their own common sense. Also your comment that the "entire sham of a trial was filmed for an HBO documentary" is incorrect. What the film fails to show is that there were other alternative/goth teenagers that lived in the area and in surrounding areas, who wore black and listened to the same type of music etc.... Thats right. They weren't outcasts because the "wore black" and "looked different". They were outcasts because they were complete sociopaths with a history of violence. When Damien Echols was arrested he had a cats head on his person. He claims he had recently beheaded the cat and that he would show it to people to "freak them out". Well while I'm to speak I may as well take advantage of it. The death penalty should be abolished because mistakes are made and even one it too many. For example I'm convinced Mumia is guilty of killing a young police officer, but because he's a cool looking, charismatic guy everybodys ready to jump on the free Mumia bandwagon. The cops widow, who was fighting for her dead husbands justice got so many death threats from Mumia's followers she had to move. they did a good job shutting her up. Also I'm a lot more concerned about murderers who get off scott free or get light sentences. i couldnt' the imagine the horror of having a loved one murdered, and watching the killer smiling as he walks out of court a free man. And if we want to talk about injustice how about the Duke Lacrosse team. How about that farcial dog and pony show. That prosecter Nifong got away with murder, he just lost his license. You know when the DNA evidence exhonerated the players Nifong cried that he couldn't try the case the old fashioned way (he liked playing the race card and stirring up a lynch mob mentality). its amazing all those libereal proffesors and students who wanted a hanging. its funny I consider myself a liberal too, but I'm not ignorant and I'll state the truth when I see it.
