I owe this blog about two dozen posts, but for now, here’s a reminder that the deadline for the 2007 Rattle Poetry Prize is this Wednesday. Postmark more entries by August 1st, or submit them by email before 11:59 PM pst that night.
Last year we received 800 submissions, and we’re only on a pace to match that — I really want to top 1,000. So if you’re thinking about entering, do me a favor and enter. The entry fee is just a one-year subscription, and you know you’ve been meaning to subscribe anyway.
The winner of the Rattle Poetry Prize receives $5,000. Ten honorable mentions receive $100. All 11 poems will be published in this winter’s issue of Rattle. Additional poems will be considered for publication as well — last year we published 32 poems from the contest.
To enter, just go here and follow either the email or hardcopy guidelines:

The incentives are very considerate.
The runner’s up pub. is great,
rewards putting your best out
and saves a lot of thrashing to
send things again somewhere.
The subscription included is cool,
and worth it because of the top
poems. It all fits together right.
Looking forward to the show.
